Whether building your first home or your fifth, it can be difficult to ensure that the quality that you are promised is that which you receive. Building processes and standards can be very confusing and your builder may try to baffle you with science or dazzle you with brilliance. The CAT Checkpoint system is your tool to assist you throughout the building process. It will prompt you on what items to look out for, what to bring to your builder’s attention and make sure you get exactly what you pay for.

  • Identify defects using the prompts provided
  • Send a defects notification after an inspection
  • Monitor remedial actions taken by your builder
  • Give your builder a login to update progress
  • Allow your builder to load photos of the work done to save you a trip
  • Manage communication with your builder

You can create your own inspection list at any stage of the project and send the builder the defect items for rectification. Or you can give them the access to do the inspection themselves and you can monitor the progress from anywhere via the Web or from an Android phone.

As most builds have the same defects time and again, the system will come pre-loaded with all typical defect items found in a residential home.

All you have to do is identify the area where the defect is located (ground floor, dining room, wall) and then select the description from the list of options. Ideally, you will be able to inspect your entire house without having to type any defect descriptions.

You can also add photos directly from your mobile and these will be attached to the defect record. Whilst on site, add a note to the item for further information or clarification with your builder.  There is also a communication module which the builder can reply to, this keeps a record of all your communication and minimises disputes. Put everything in writing to eliminate the “he said, she said”

Whenever you have entered defects, it is a simple one click process to notify your builder of new or updated items, so they can get on to fixing them as soon as possible. Once completed, the builder can upload a photo and notify you that they are done, so you don’t have to keep visiting site to check on their progress. Simply sit back, relax and watch your dream home come to life.
